Maitland: It’s like putting on a marionette suit. (Note from Cindy: This was at the beginning of our trance channeling session. She was referring to her full incorporation into Kent’s body.)
Cindy: Are you the puppet master, Maitland?
Maitland: Yeah. Bla-bla-bla-bla-blog.
Maitland: What I wanted to talk about was doing some structure things. Because I talk a lot about being fun and spontaneous, which is very important especially since a lot of people don’t take the time to do that. But at the same time you need to kind of do a little bit of structure and routine stuff to take care of you. Because we do so many routines that are just busy doing stuff that has to be done and doing stuff for others that we forget to do stuff for ourselves.
So I think a really good one…I like the times right before you go to sleep and right before you wake up because you’re not…you’re just a lot more calm. And those are good times when you go to sleep you can do a little thing that will program yourself so that the things that are on your mind aren’t the stuff that’s been going on during the day but you can do things that can take care of yourself.
So right before you go to sleep, instead of going over and over in your mind what was going on that day or what you are worried about, just decide that you are just going to let that go and do an energetic cleansing thing. Just taking some breaths and visualizing white light around yourself. Visualize the white light surrounding you creating a healing space and invite your angels and guides to take care of you during the night. If there are messages that you need to know they can give you that while you’re dreaming but also let your body know that you want it to just relax and get the replenishment that it needs. See this kind of sets the intention that you want your angels and guides to help you go through that. You just ask them “Hey, can you take care of my body and heal my body, give it rest and relaxation?” and in the meantime you can let your soul run free and learn what it needs to. So it’s not weighed down by the heaviness of the energy from the day and it can just go free. So you can do that however is comfortable for you whether you do a little prayer or meditation or affirmation. I would just keep it simple. You don’t want to make it a big deal so that you’re already tired, but just think of it as taking a couple of minutes to take care of yourself and if you set that intention before you sleep you get used to that and create a habit and it should help your sleep get a lot more refreshing and then you will feel more energized.
When you wake up in the morning, you can do a similar thing. Wake up in the morning and before…right in that spot where you’re a little bit groggy but you’re starting to take stock of your surroundings, before you start thinking about “Oh what do I need to do today?” and “What should I be doing?” again just take a couple minutes. Just real briefly take a few breaths and maybe put a smile on your face and say that whatever you have to do today you just want to live and try to find the joy in everything that you are doing today. It sounds kind of simple and kind of PollyAnna but it’s not really because you are not just pretending to be joyful you are saying you are going to find the joy in everything and you set that intention so that as you start planning out your day and what you want to accomplish it just sets that frame of mind. Instead of being grumpy about it, you may as well be happy about it. That helps you figure out the challenges that helps you be open to intuition and stuff like that to help you with your challenges. Rather than getting bogged down by them and getting frustrated by them. So if you do get a challenge you can meet it a little bit easier. So the goal is not to pretend that nothing is going to happen, it is just setting the intention for how you want to live your life. That’s what you have control over—your free will.
A lot of times people don’t pay attention to that morning time and it’s a very powerful time because your mind is a little bit slow so when you’re first waking up that’s a good time to give it suggestions before it starts going, blocking out other stuff and taking charge. So I like that time in the morning and then I think it’s very important at night because what you think about just as you’re drifting off to sleep and your mind is going to sleep you want to put in positive thoughts to direct it to what you want rather than having just whatever is happening around you dictate what goes into your brain and mind and subconscious. Because while your body is resting, your soul wants stuff to figure out, it wants to keep going.
I have to tell you that since reading this blog I have been ending my days differently. Before I drift off to sleep I ask for spirit to do this for me while I sleep including watching over my body, answering questions that I have via my dreams and more. Thank you for this beautiful idea that literally takes no time at all and produces amazing results.
Thank you for sharing your personal experience, Natasha! I’m so happy to hear that Maitland’s advice has been useful to you.
