Maitland answered a variety of questions in our lectures at the Denver Body Mind Spirit Celebration Fair last weekend. Following is an excerpt from last weekend. For future Maitland “appearances” see our Events page.
Event Attendee: My question is about animals since you like animals so much.
Maitland: Yes!
Event Attendee: When we lose our loved pets, do they…I know that they become a spirit, and they’re around us still, but do they ever come back to the same family or do they come back in human form?
Maitland: That is a great question. It’s very fun. Because, as you stated…yes, animals do cross over and they are high level spirits as well, they come in to fulfill a role many times and the reason I like animals…one of the big reasons I do besides the fact that they’re cute is I like animals because they don’t have the kind of filters and rational mind so they stay very connected to source and they stay very focused on their mission, what they come in to do. And so yes, animals will cross over and if a family asks for it and it serves a purpose, a lot of times they do come back. It may be a slightly different animal but their soul will come back into the same family because their lives are so short, unfortunately, they might cycle back for another stage in your life, and there are animals that will switch back and forth. There are spirits that have incarnated as humans previously and by agreement they may come in as an animal to be a teacher to somebody and use that form to be a teacher.
This question made me think about our cat Sting, who died in 2010. The part about the animal being a teacher resonated with me, as (if you’ve read in our bios) Sting and Kent agreed on a contract regarding Kent writing a song about their relationship. Sting passed peacefully the morning after Kent had written the chorus for this tribute song, “Through the Eyes of God”. Here’s the video:
made me cry and feel such love my cat and my horse. I lost a cat last October and a horse 3 months ago. Such spiritual beings!
Thank you for sharing your experience, Jayne. Yes, animals live without ego or artifice, making their love unconditional, and the relationships between humans and animals very special indeed. We hope the blog post and Kent’s song provided some comfort to you as you continue to grieve your losses. Take care. -Cindy
I love this song! I won your CD and listen to it all the time! This song is my favorite. My cat passed exactly 3 months ago today and Kent’s words really resonates with me! Cindy the reading you did for me comforted me so much especially when my cat came through…I can’t be sad when I know she is so happy!
Thank you for your comment, Sharon. We’re so happy to hear you’re enjoying our CD and gratified to hear that Kent’s lyrics resonate with you in relation to your own loss. Thank you for your kind words regarding your reading. I’m glad the information I translated was comforting to you. I know your cat is still with you–just in a different dimension, now.
