From one of Kent’s meditations with Spirit…
How do you know if you are on your life’s path, your soul path?
Humans often times question this many, many, many times throughout their lives as they go about their day-to-day business. They may stop and ask “Am I really on my life’s path? Is this really what I’m supposed to be doing? Is this what I am here to do in this lifetime?”
We, on this side, encourage this kind of questioning because simply by asking these types of questions means you are aware enough of your surroundings and feelings that you are here to do something. All of you came into this life with a purpose. There is a reason that you are here. There is something that you need to do and that you agreed to do to make the world a better place. Yes, you come back to learn lessons, that is a big part of why you return is to learn lessons, learn about yourself, to learn to love yourself and others, and to bring yourself closer to God. But along with that there is a purpose, or a reason that you are here.
So how do you find out what that purpose is?
As teachers we would say, “Look to your gifts.” Each one of you that comes into this world has a gift, and usually multiple gifts. It could be a musical gift, it could be gift for art, or for painting. It could be a gift for talking or for sharing ideas. It could be a gift for engineering, for building things, or for inventing things. It could be a gift for bringing people together with charisma.
To discover your gift, just go within and think about what you truly are passionate about. What is it? If there was one thing that you could do in your life and you didn’t have to worry about making an income or paying bills, that you truly love to do and brings you great joy when you do it, what would it be? If you can narrow that down you will be identifying one of your primary gifts. Another way to look at it is, is there something that you are really good at?
For something like music perhaps you don’t instantly have the aptitude to play an instrument, but you have a natural ability for writing songs and learning instruments comes easily. Think about what you love to do and what you are good at. Perhaps someone else has even commented on how good you are at cooking, or negotiating, or making people feel comfortable. Whatever it is, when you focus on that you start identifying your gifts. And we will tell you that when you have a gift it is meant to be shared with the world.
So once you’ve identified your gift(s) then it is just a matter of utilizing them, or asking for guidance about what you are supposed to do with your gift(s).
How shall I share it?
You will start getting insights on what actions you can take. Keep in mind that if you discover that you are not using your gift as your primary lifestyle or income that does not mean that you are not on your path. Many times your gift may integrate with your career but many times it is in addition. You may not earn an income from sharing your gift but the income you earn from your other work allows you to share your gift. If you follow your heart and share your gifts you will automatically fall onto your path. It cannot be otherwise.
Remember your Life Path has many facets and you may start off on a path that feels counter to your purpose, but that path actually gave you the foundation you needed to discover and truly utilize your gift later in life. This does not mean you were “off your path” until you found your gift. You found your gift because you were on your path.
You will recognize when you are not on your path. It feels “off”. The energy feels wrong. You may start to engage in self-destructive behavior. Even if you are not listening to your intuition, in your heart you can tell when you are not on your path. You will feel unsettled.
Just remember to discover your gifts, share your gifts and you will not be able to help but to fall onto your Life Path. Always feel free to ask us for guidance. Ask your guides, teachers and angels, even your own Higher Self.
When you are on your path you will know it as you will feel the day-to-day joy of being in harmony with your soul.
