Are you a “New Year’s resolutions” kind of person? I am to a certain degree. When I hang that fresh January calendar full of 12 months of possibilities, it’s hard not to think about how I will be “better” this year. Of course, with that sometimes comes guilt for not being “better” last year.
I don’t like the guilt.
THIS year, I had the idea that I should write “balanced” goals. I decided my resolutions should be in balance with my entire being—heart, body, mind, and soul (aka emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual)—thus increasing the likelihood that these goals will come to fruition.
…and if I miss the mark?
…and if we’re having this conversation next year at this time, and I’m feeling bad because I wasn’t able to achieve “better”, please remind me that I’m fantastic just the way I am, and I am “better” in other ways that didn’t make it on the resolution list. …and I’ll do the same for you!
